What: Full time Promotions role specialising in presenting music to Radio and TV
Where: You’ll work from Shock’s office in Kew in Melbourne’s inner east
Who: We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills – existing relationships with media will be an advantage.

You’ll report to Scot Crawford (General Manager of Marketing and Media and owner of ridiculous amounts of KISS merch).

On any given day your role might include:

- Liaising with label managers and the media department to determine radio priorities.
- Maintaining strong relationships with selected media outlets and presenting Shock’s radio priorities in face to face meetings.
- Staying current with mainstream music trends and the commercial radio landscape.
- Researching, getting feedback from media contacts and reporting feedback to label managers.
- Creating stratagies and campaigns to promote our artists.
- Setting up on ground interview schedules for local and international artists.
- Executing on ground promo (i.e escorting artists to their promotional commitments).
- Attending live shows for ALL  Shock priority artists.
- Regularly blogging.

Some of the skills and qualities we’re looking for:

- Strong interpersonal skills are a must!
- An understanding of PR and promotions and it’s role in the broader marketing communications picture.
- A passion for a broad range of musical styles and a genuine interest in working in the music industry.
- A motivated self starter, with lots of initiative and an ability to learn from constructive criticism.
- An ability to sell, using persistence, think creatively and to think beyond the obvious selling points.
- An ability to analyse and relay information gathered from internal and external data reports.
- Experience with WordPress blogs and social media is an advantage.
- You’ll thrive within a creative environment surrounded by a local team of two graphic designers, two publicists and a marketing person (who we’re currently on the lookout for).

Your qualifications:

Degrees in marketing & online communications will be valued when considering this role, but not essential. As will experience in the music industry or a closely related field.
